Who is Princess Kasune Zulu?

Princess-Portrait-150x138Honourable Princess Kasune Zulu M.P – Founder, HIV & Aids Advocate/Speaker, Zambian Member of Parliament

Princess Kasune is a world renowned HIV and AIDS advocate, author of Warrior Princess (an autobiography), and founder of the non-profit organization Fountain of Life which works with children, orphans and vulnerable children, especially those affected with HIV/AIDS in rural Zambia.

In her advocacy role, she has spoken for organizations such as the UN, World Vision, UNAIDS, UNCIEF, Oxfam, Peace Corp and ONE . Her message has also taken her to the White House where she was part of the delegation that met with President George W. Bush in the Oval Office, and resulted in the $15 billion PEPPFAR (Presidential Fund for Aids Relief).  She has also met UK Members of Parliament, political leaders in Canada, Ireland and the former President and First Lady of her own country, Zambia.

She has spoken at the Lausanne Conference 2010, Urbana Conference 2006, Faith-works Conference, and churches such as Saddleback, Willow Creek, Potter’s House (Bishop T.D Jakes), Apostolic Church and many others.  She also speaks at universities and schools around the world.

Princess has been featured in mainstream media such as BBC News, Good Morning America, Fox News, NBC, Voice of America, The Age in Australia, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, The Telegraph, Irish Today, Times of Zambia, the Zambian Post, Daily Mail, Cosmopolitan Magazine, Ebony Magazine, Jet Magazine, Christianity today and more.  Zulu is a wife and a mother of 7 children (of which five are adopted) and currently divides her time between Chicago and Zambia.

Princess was recently elected as a Member of Parliament at the National Assembly of Zambia, representing Keembe constituency in Chibombo District, and is the both the first female M.P. for that constituency and also the first HIV positive law maker in Zambia, and possibly Africa!
